Whoa...

Okay...are these two just mirror images or what?! The one of Brooke reminded me of one that I loved of Ben so I pulled them up side by side and wow....they look more alike than I realized!! And they're almost exactly the same age here!

Birthday and Easter

It's been a fun past few weeks for us and Benjamin, with the chance to celebrate his 2nd birthday and Easter. We've had lots of fun with friends and family! He's talking more every day and always making us laugh. He's moved into a "big boy" bed which has been a bit of a challenge, and definitely asserting his independence, but he is after all two!! Baby sister will be here in a few short weeks and we can hardly wait. He loves to hang out with his cousin Hailee and with the nice weather finally here we're having a ton of fun playing outside!

WANTED: Playmate

Wanted:

Active almost-two year old seeks live-in friend to run ragged, his parents are exhausted. Mostly wants to play "hockey"... which involves a stick, some sort of head protection (either winter hat or bike helmet) and may or may not involve a ball. Other interests include running in circles then giggling and falling to floor, playing the keyboard that Mormor loaned to us (often with volume turned all the way up, ears covered, and playing with elbows), and going outside to play even though it's still just a little too cold. Will spring ever get here?!?! :) Luckily this kid has a sibling on the way, even though he'll have to wait a while to play hockey with her!

Right before our eyes...

Ben literally changes daily right before our eyes...and ears! Each day brings some new surprise, so I thought I would list out some of the funny things he's done and said as of late:

~ He's into doing everything on his own...getting in and out of the car/car seat, putting his boots on and taking his coat off, and if you try to help you are told, "NOOO I do it"

~ Speaking of putting his snow boots on, he wears them all the time. Everywhere. Unless he's in his crib.

~ I've had a little cabbage patch doll I've kept around for Hailee, and lately he's taken a special liking to her. He calls her "baby" and totes it around with him, pushes her in his wagon...move over Elmo. I like to think he's preparing himself for little sister. :)

~He's really putting together some phrases the last few days and has busted out things like, "i want more p(l)ease" and "mama where are you" when I walked in the other room.

~ He LOVES doing puzzles and is getting really darn good at them!

The Ultrasound

We had our ultrasound on December 23rd and got to see our healthy baby GIRL! We both cried at the sight of her and have been SO excited ever since. I don't know if you will be able to see anything here that at all resembles a baby, but I keep forgetting to show the video to our families so will try to post it here! In this video clip she starts out on her side facing us and has her arms up by her head, and you can see her little heart beating away. Then she flips over onto her back and you can see a great shot of her little spine.

Here is a still shot of her profile too...you can see her little lips and chin and her hand is up by her face. She was really active during the ultrasound so it was hard to get good shots, and she continues to be just as active! I love technology, I wish we could have an ultrasound and see her every month!
