Our TV star

Last Saturday we went to the Boise holiday parade for the first time. It was so fun and Ben loved it! We settled in right in front of the library, and eventually noticed we were right in the path of the channel 7 cameras. I of course am ALL about getting on TV, and called my mom pronto to tell her to watch for us. Sure enough within minutes she called to tell us that we had all made it on and that there were close-ups of both Ben and Hailee. So of course right when we got home I proceeded to Tivo the whole parade and will probably save it forever. :) There was literally like a one minute spot of just Ben, they happened to zoom in on him just as a float full of teen beauty queens were cruising by and he was clapping and waving, it was pretty dang cute. If I could figure out how to get it off the Tivo and onto here I would, but these pictures will have to do for now!!

Here we go!

Okay the training potty has arrived in the mail. Not that we're going to do much more than look at it, not until after the new baby comes anyway. But one day Ben actually wanted to sit on the toilet, and every time he takes a #2 goes in the other room to do it and then immediately wants his diaper changed, so I figured we'd at least get a potty. He doesn't think it to be much more than a toy right now, and likes to step in it more than sit on it, but we'll take baby steps!

Trick or Treat!

Halloween was SO much fun for us this year! We pretty much just trick or treated at the granparents' houses and a couple close neighbors, but he thought it was pretty cool to just hold out his little bucket and be given candy! He was also pretty into his bat costume and looked really adorable in it. We've really been enjoying the fall and had a fun trip to the zoo with Grandma and Grandpa last week. As always, lots more pictures here: http://hagman.shutterfly.com/

Punkin' Patchin'

Ben and I went with Kari, Hailee, and our parents to Linder Farms. WOW we had sooo much fun, and I just love love love what awesome little buddies Hailee and Ben are. He worships the ground she walks on, and she's such a great "big sis" to him. We went on the hay ride, checked out the petting zoo (Ben "talked" to the sheep and goats for about 20 minutes, we had to peel him away), and picked out some awesome pumpkins to take home as souveneirs. It was a blast and something we'll never forget. Unfortunately Mike is out of town and we missed him. But, we got some darling pictures!!

A home...at last!

Well our house is all but done, we will close sometime next week and start moving the hundreds of boxes, and then make the big move with all the furniture Saturday morning. Words can't possibly describe my excitement! Ben already loves the house, runs around and giggles like a crazy man...he's going to love all the space. We have blinds and the fence coming in a week or two, otherwise we're set! Can't wait to have you all over!! Here are a few pictures, you can see more at: http://hagman.shutterfly.com/

Almost Done....

Well the days of waiting are numbered now and we should be moving into the new house within two weeks and I can hardly wait. Time has been slooowwwllly dragging by but we have managed to have some fun with our goofy little man, here are some new pics to show! Hailee loves to ride her new bike, and Ben loves to chase her around on her new bike. We had fun at Art in the Park, even though we both seem so serious! And last but not least, thank goodness Packer season has begun!!! As always you can see lots more pictures here: http://hagman.shutterfly.com/

The latest

Last week we took a great vacation to Seaside and spent the week with Mike's family. We had such a wonderful, relaxing, and fun time. Ben and I flew over and Mike, Joe, Vi, and Oscar picked us up in Portland and we drove to the coast. We took walks, bike rides, dug for clams, played games, and of course visited and ate. :) The weather was a little cool and cloudy but it was nice to get away from the Boise heat for a few days. It was also fun to see a lot of progress made on our new house when we got back, I took some pictures tonight that I will post here too. Lots of exciting things going on for us!!!

Summertime!

It's *HOT* in Boise and that means we have to hit some water to cool off. Ben was a little iffy about the pool at first but now he thinks it's pretty fun, especially if he has somebody like his cousin Hailee to play with! Here are some pics of some summertime fun...

On the Go

So...these days I don't take nearly as many photos as I used to. Frankly, I can't get Ben to sit still long enough to take a picture of him. He's SO busy and always on the move!! All the pictures I take, as you will see, are pretty much a blur of him running by me. Unless he's sitting in his high chair, then he sometimes will smile, with a face full of food of course! We're having a ton of fun, and he totally cracks us up every day with the things he comes up with. He wants to be out in the yard 24/7, and is always curious what the dog is up to...in fact that was his first word! "Dog", "Dad", of course lots of "No", still no "Mom".....seriously, what's that all about? For all that I went through for nine months I at least deserve that. :) He and Oscar are great buds, and Oscar is starting to have more interest in Ben since he likes to throw the ball for him...even if it's not far!

Hailee's Birthday

Okay I know this blog is usually about Ben, but I also have the cutest niece in the world who just had a birthday last weekend and I have to show her off a bit. Hailee turned four and is such a funny adorable little girl. Mike was at home with Ben, who took a meganap and slept through the whole thing! Kari had a great party at the park near her house and it was a ton of fun!

Walkin' Machine!

Ben is what I would consider a pretty polished walker now. He takes a tumble now and then, and still opts to crawl maybe 1/3 of the time, but he's getting pretty darn good at getting around on two feet! He can also stop, crouch down, pick something up, stand up, and keep walking. Even I have a hard time doing that! I want to get some video of his walking posted here, but need Mike's help because that's a little too much for my little brain to figure out...but check back! Ben also has a new purpose in life, something that he yearns to do every day all day, and that is to dig with small sticks. Spring has come to Boise and it's beautiful outside. Ben stands at our back glass door complaining until we release him to his new playground. We have these nasty, sticky sap buds from the trees in the backyard that get all over everything...I tried to avoid them at first and now have just come to terms with the fact that they will just have to destroy his clothes. Can't hold the kid back from his dreams of digging with sticks. Anyway, here are a few shots of his new pastime, as always you can see loads more here: http://hagman.shutterfly.com/action

My Baby's One

I really can't believe it's been a year since the best day of our lives when our little Ben showed up and changed everything. I've had mixed feelings of utter excitement, nostalgia, and sadness that we're venturing out of the baby days and into the toddler ones! However, it is so fun to watch him grow and learn so much every day and he never ceases to make us laugh! We had a wonderful party with our families on Saturday, Melissa and Mindy came into town and then of course have all the rest of our family here so they all came over to celebrate. Ben had such a good time....playing with Hailee, charming his grandmas, opening gifts, and then the cake. I baked him his own mini cake and opted for the whipped cream instead of frosting, and he really didn't know what to think of it at first. He poked at it a bit, but refused to put any in his mouth even after many attempts by mom and dad. He puts everything he comes in contact with into his mouth, but not his birthday cake?!?! I decided to try and give him a spoon, and sure enough that did the trick and he dove in! Who knew he was so civilized at such a young age, he doesn't use utensils for anything else but must have been trying to do the proper thing with all that company over. Anyway, we had a blast and here are a few of the highlights in pictures, the rest you can see at http://hagman.shutterfly.com/action/
