Five Months

More pictures here: http://hagman.shutterfly.com/action/

Ben is now 5 months old and just barrels of fun! He's getting so big, he's tall and slim like his dad and we've started on some solids which have been a lot of fun. He loves to sit in his high chair and scarf down rice cereal, applesauce, and the latest is sweet potatoes. He rolled over a few times over a month ago, but is way more into sitting up or standing in his exersaucer than lying on the floor so we haven't seen much more of that. Over Labor Day weekend we rented a yurt up by Idaho City for one night and it was so much fun, he slept like a champ like he always does. He's always slept through the night since about 6 weeks, but we've started bumping back his bedtime and now he goes down around 8:30 and sleeps until we wake him up, sometime between 7 and 8. He laughs all the time, especially at his silly little doggie Oscar. He's an amazing kid! Here is a sample of the giggle monster....

Three Months

Our little munchkin turned three months last week and is growing like a weed! He's a very smiley and happy guy, and is making life very easy and enjoyable for his mom and dad. He's doing all the things they do at this age...like cooing and blowing bubbles, grabbing at his toys, and he's contemplating rolling over. I've returned to work 3 days a week and it's the perfect combination, his sitter is working out great. He's the youngest of about 5 kids that range up to 4, and he has great fun just taking in all the action and all the kids cheer when Ben shows up! He was just baptized this past weekend, and his godmother Auntie Melissa and Auntie Mindy came into town which was fun, so the whole family was here! We have a new website for pictures, so you can see more here: http://hagman.shutterfly.com/action/

Two Months

Two months old today and Ben is doing awesome! It's amazing how much he changes every week, he's now smiling and playing so much more and it's great fun. He's growing fast, he's even getting too big for some of his 3-month clothes and has slept in a couple 6-month pajamas! He's very long, but could still used some chunking up if you ask me. :) We go to the doc on Friday so we'll see what he has to tell us. He's sleeping usually 8 hours or so at night which we are SO grateful for. I'm dreading going back to work next week, mostly since Ben has to go to daycare, but it will only be 2 days a week and it's only 3 blocks from me so I'll be able to go visit him during the day. We cracked up over this picture of Ben and our friends Pat & Maggie's new baby Sarah...he seems quite proud of himself for scoring a hot babe.

One Month

It's hard to believe that our little Ben is just over a month old already! Time has flown and he's growing fast and doing great. We think he's gained almost 2 pounds and is starting to grow out of his newborn size clothes and move into the 3 months ones! He's starting to do a lot of smiling which is so much fun, and in general is a pretty happy guy! We love to go on daily walks and the weather is starting to get really nice in Boise. I still have 5 weeks of leave left before I have to go back to work, and I intend to enjoy every minute of it! Here are the latest pictures I've posted of our little man...

Benjamin Joseph Hagman

He's here! Benjamin Joseph was born on April 4th at 7:58 am. He's a big boy, he was 8 lbs 10 ozs and 21 1/2 inches long. He is doing wonderful and has made us so happy! Here's the story of how it went down...we were scheduled to be induced at 5 am on April 4th. The day before, the doctor put a catheter in my cervix to start getting me dilated before the induction. By that afternoon I was having pretty regular contractions and we went to the hospital around 11 pm because I was getting really, really uncomfortable and my contractions were about 2-3 minutes apart. Once there they said I was dilated to 3 cm and I was staying! I got an epidural (the best thing ever invented) and was able to rest through the night as I continued to dilate and contractions continued at the same rate. Around 7:00 am I was fully dilated and we were ready to go. Dr. West showed up, I started to push, pushed for about 15 minutes and the little guy was born!! I was really lucky and we were so amazed the first time we laid eyes on him...he is so perfect and the whole labor went so well. We stayed in the hospital two nights and came home with our new son on Friday morning. He's been doing great, he really is a happy little guy and has been letting us get some pretty good sleep at night, just waking up every 4 hours or so to eat. He's also a very good eater and nursing has been going well, and he's packing on the weight! Mike has been off work all week and it's been so nice for us to spend time the three of us and Mike's very helpful, changing way more diapers than I have. We've been busy taking pictures and uploading them here, if you want to take a look! We'll keep you posted!
