These two have been killin' me lately. Our sweet little Miss Brooke has sprouted QUITE the little attitude in the last week or two and while she's a handful it's so hard to not just laugh really hard when she throws herself on the floor in her dramatic outbursts. And the pouting....the "uh-uh", folds her arms and turns away with her bottom lip sticking out. She's also learned the word "NOOOO!" and like Ben at this age likes to point and wag her finger at the poor victim named Oscar and say "NO NO NO" regardles of what he's doing. I tell ya, it's hard to know what to do with all these girl hormones.
However, just last night she started puckering up her lips really big (we call them her Angelina Jolies) and making kissing sounds....it's awesome. So this morning she goes storming into her brother's room, punching the door open and yells at the foot of his bed, "DADA!" (Mike, myself, and Ben are all "Dada" to her.) Ben they yells, "BROOOOOOK-EEEEE! Leave me alone" but then finally wanders out to curl up on my lap. She continues to pester him by squatting next to us with her big kissy lips pecking away at him. Don't get me wrong, he teases and pesters her just as much, and for the most part she loves the attention but has her limits. Yesterday she nailed him in the face with my phone and today it was the wooden empty dominos box to the nose. I very sternly tell her no and remove her from the situation, but really...what else can you do to punish a 16 month old. Oh! 16 months today in fact! Wow how the time flies, the kids literally change on a weekly basis.
Anyway, Brooke has her 'tude and Ben continues to learn mass amounts of information every day....from school and from pure observation. His little logic makes me laugh, like yesterday he didn't want juice because "juice makes me go poop". He's taken up golf with the REAL metal golf club with snoopy on it that Dad found at a yard sale. Puts the tee in the ground, the hollow plastic (thank god) ball on the tee and WHACK...the kid's got an amazing swing. You should see the big area of dug-up grass it's created....thanks Dad. Well I hoped to include some more funny Ben quotes here but of course now can't think of them. I'll write them down as they come and blog those soon!!
